Espresso Machines
The spring piston lever machine invention
changed
espresso into the beverage as it is know today. As a result of the
high-pressure brewing process, all of the flavors and
chemicals in a typical cup of coffee are concentrated. An espresso machine
is used to produce espresso coffee or expresso by forcing 90 °C (200 °F)
water through 7-10 grams of finely ground coffee, which has been
compressed with approximately 30 lbf (130 N) of force into a densely
packed puck, at a pressure of 900 kPa (9 bars) or greater - Manual Lever
Espresso Machines , Semi-Automatic (Pump) Espresso Machines , Automatic
(Pump) Espresso Machines , Super-Automatic Espresso Machines .
Espresso Pods
Each pod contains
seven grams of coffee compressed into a food safe filter package. The
pod is placed where one would normally put the loose grounds in an
espresso machine.
There are machines
that use only pods and cannot use manually tamped coffee. These what
produce the best results from espresso pods.
Espresso Capsule

Brewing a thick, rich espresso is as simple as placing capsule
pre-filled with ground coffee into
the machine and pressing a button and a steam wand is provided for
making cappuccino or latte. Espresso Point Italian capsule
machines are commercial grade and have been distributed throughout
Europe and the United States for many years.

Espresso lends itself to becoming the base for other
drinks, such as lattes, cappuccini, macchiato and mochas.
Espresso can be served in a variation of ways for example; Espresso
Romano, Spicy Viennese
Espresso, and Espresso con panna and made by various methods like
Espresso machines and Espresso Capsules.
Cool
Cocoa Espresso - A single espresso shot (cooled) with 2-3
teaspoons cocoa, 1/2 t vanilla extract and 1-cup cold milk. Served over
ice in a tall glass and topped with whipped cream.
Spicy Viennese Espresso - A double-shot of espresso, 1/2 t cinnamon, 4
ground cloves and 1/2 t allspice. Top with whipped cream.
Espresso Romano - A single shot of espresso topped with fresh lemon
peel. This is not a traditional Italian recipe, but often served in the
US.
Espresso con panna - which means "espresso with cream" in Italian, is a
single or double shot of espresso topped with whipped cream. In the
US.
Cappuccino
- prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed milk foam. A cappuccino
differs from a caffee latte in that it is prepared with much less
steamed or textured milk than the caffee latte with the total of espresso
and milk/foam making up between approximately 150 ml and 180 ml
Macchiato - Caffee macchiato (also known as Espresso
macchiato or short macchiato), literally "espresso marked (with milk)":
an espresso with a teaspoon of milk in it and a small "spot" of foam on
top of the cream.
Latte macchiato (also known as long macchiato) , literally "milk marked
(with espresso)"
steamed milk served in a glass with a ½ shot of espresso or less poured
through it, leaving a 'spot' of cream; hence "marked" milk.
